Some crafty colouring relaxing

Hi all well I had a break from crafting the beginning of the year and I have been concentrating on a new healthy and active lifestyle so have been spending most of my spare time in the gym. I have also given up making my plaques and things made to order on ebay and etsy and decided that I wanted to get my crafts back as more of a hobby and more enjoyable when I do have some spare time. I felt like I was working to much to deadlines and the fun and relaxation of crafting had just gone.

Unfortunately I have been unwell with my chest this past week and have spent some time in hospital. Well I thought that as I am resting up at the minute I would do a spot of colouring/crafting. I have had loads of digital images in a box printed and waiting for colouring so they were ready to hand which was very convenient. I set myself up in front of the tv, with my tray and Spectrum Noir Pencils, feet up and set off colouring a range of images. Once I had coloured a few and felt in the mood, I decided I would venture into the abandoned craft room and make some cards.

I have actually missed making cards and have really enjoyed making these 3 so far. I have also decided that saying I have made some cards for fun I would also enter some blog challenges. I will add details of each challenge under each individual card.

Well here goes for the first one

This card I have used a saturated canary image.

This card uses a backing paper from nitwit's and I have added black cardstock, silver glitter card (embossed with my dots folder), some ribbon, a diecut bunting which I added guilding wax to and then a stamped sentiment. I have added glossy accents and stickles to the image to make it pop. Finally finished with some gems.

Card No 2

This time for a My Besties image from Sherri Baldy.
The backing for this card I have created using my Spectrum Aqua Pens. I then have added some stamped embossed details and some glitter around the edges. Additional details are an embossed butterfly panel with a ribbon and bow detail, A die cut gilded butterfly. Finished with stickles glitter glue and gems and a diamante cluster on the bow.

Finally Card Number 3

This card features the very cute Jolly from Teddy Bo.
Papers are from Nitwit collections and sentiment is from my stash. I have added some card candy and brad details on the card to give it more of a masculine feel and of course I have added some glossy accents to his eyes and the little heart.

Well thank you all for stopping by. Hope you enjoy my creations.
I have 3 more images coloured and will be back to share my cards when completed so watch this space.

Mixed media clock

Hi all I'm back today to share a clock I've made.  I started it yesterday evening by adding the texture building stages using white crackle texture paste drying after. Then used various stencils and embossing paste. I dried this and then added a coat of black gesso and left it to dry over night.  This morning I added some colour onto it using Pebeo Dyna paints. I added die cut numbers cut out of silver mirror card. However I wasn't happy with it as it was too dark for what I wanted it for and thought the silver numbers didn't go with it. So I sat back and looked at it and decided I wanted it lighter.  Well no loss as out came my heavy white gesso and I gave it a good coating. Before adding the white gesso I sanded the numbers slightly so that the paint could adhere better and this also gave extra texture. I dried this off and added the Dyna paints again and some Art Alchemy Opal Magic in Rose Gold.  Well I felt much happier with how it was lookin

Birthday Card Trio

Hello all, I'm back again with another post for you. This time I've got three cards to show you.  These are all made with products from Crafter's Companion. The 1st is another dragon card made using one of the Lee Holland Dragon stamps. I love these little characters :) I've had coloured this using spectrum noir colour blend pencils. I just love how much of a fun looking card you can make with these stamps.    Next is a card made using a unicorn stamp. This has also been hand coloured with pencils. I've also used some backing papers and matt mirror and glitter card from Sara's Enchanted forest collection. Finally I've made a card using my Crafter's Companion BeBunni CD. It's a while since I've used this cd but I forgot how cute these little bunnies are.   All of the cards have been personalised with die cut numbers and letters for the names. Hope to see you all again soon. Rachel
