Well on the lookout for my next challenge I called onto the ABC blog and found that they are changing their challenges to fortnightly and also that the team are looking for new DT members to join them. This is what the info on their blog says:

"Important news -From now on the ABC Challenge will be fortnightly.

This week we are taking a break from the alphabet as we are holding a design team call.

Unfortunately both Dawn and Cathy (whom help set up the challenge blog with Vicky) have stood down due to family commitments. I would like to thank them for the work they have put into the blog and also the wonderful cards they have produced for us. I hope that they will continue to join in the challenges and know that a place is here for them should they wish to rejoin the design team at any point.

We are looking for new members for the team, if you would like to join please do the following:

1. Post about this on your blog and link it back.
2. Choose your 3 favourite cards and add them to the post.

Please show in these cards what you determine your style to be.

Please note this is a 6 month post to be extended if you and the team are happy with your work. You must be prepared to comment on at least a 1/3 of all entrants and have your card ready to be posted 24 hours before the challenge goes live. We have the topics prepared for the rest of the alphabet so it is ok to prepare in advance.

The winners will be announced in 2 weeks time, when the alphabet will continue with E."

Well my style can vary depending on mood and occassion etc. So these three cards show my style on the whole:

Card 1:

Card 2:

Card 3:

Just BD and xmas cards #37

Just Birthday and xmas #37

Right then, that's my three so hope they are a good selection to show what I can do.

Good luck to everyone else who is joining in too.

VW Campervan Wedding

This is a card I have been asked to do for a wedding on Saturday. The happy couple are using VW Camper vans for their wedding transport. This is something very unique to me as hadn't heard of it but there is a company who specialises in this form of transport for special occassions. This is their website.

I was asked to include pictures of the Camper vans on the card. Well I decided to make an A4 double pop out card. As you can see, I have used my cuttlebug to create the embossed pannels using my swiss dots folder and then I have used my nestabilities to house the images of the Camper Vans.

I also was asked to include their names on the images of the Camper Vans. Paul is using the Red and White Van,

and Sue the Cream one.

Inside I have made heart shaped pop outs and from this hung wedding bells. I decorated the pop out section with gems for extra bling too.

I used my nestabilities again for the greeting. I love using nestablilites as they just give the card something that bit special.

Thanks for stopping by and checking my blog out.

My First Winter Tales Card!!

This is what I have been working on this afternoon. I have used the magical Christmas scene and decoupaged it both in for and front view. As I decoupaged the roof tops scene I decided to make a 'box' to house it.

I have added folower soft onto the rooftops and sky however the picture doesn't show this up very well.

I stamped one of the mice from the last years collection and coloured with watercolour pencils. I have added a stamped greeting and ribbon to embellish also.

The base card stock and box are made from gold embossed card and I have also used gold mirror card and a patterned paper from the cd. The inside I have decorated too with the matching insert.
I am sure that this year i will be using this cd and stamps to make alot of my christmas cards.

75th Birthday Cards

These are some cards I made for a fellow crafter for her 75th birthday. For this card I have used the Joanna Sheen Pamela West Cd. The numbers I have made using my Crafter's Companion stamps and coloured with watercolours. I have decorated with craft creations peel offs.
For this next card I have used the Crad Creations Art Deco Cd.

Thanks as usual for looking.

An xmas walk in wonderland and cosy 'n' warm!!

Well on Wednesday whilst watching Sara and Jane on Create and Craft I was inspired to make some Christmas cards using last years Christmas cute companions whilst I waited eagerly for my Cute Companions Walk in Wonderland Bumper pack to arrive!!!

I made two lovely cards, which I must say I am really pleased with.

This is the first one. I used the village scene, mounted this onto some silver mirror card and a silver pearl card.
I then stamped some of the mice, the street lamp and two presents, then coloured these with watercolour pencils. I added some polar white flower soft and glamour dust to the village background, and then some additional glamour dust to the fur area's of the mouses coat.
The next card I have used the fireside scene which has been decoupaged.
Overall this card is 8x8" but has an a5 opening section. I have attached a panel on the left hand side consisting of gold mirror card, patterned paper and ribbon. I have then finished this card with a stamped greeting.

A Few Wedding Cards

These next cards are from an order I did recently. However before I explain each card I must apologise for the quality of the photographs, my camera must have played up and did not realise until I had already delivered the cards to the customer. That will teach me for not loading the photos onto the computer beforehand. However I must say that the first picture didn't look like this on the preview screen of my camera, it seemed to go weird on uploading to the computer. I don't have the original photo either as my settings automatically erase the memory card once they are uploaded.
Right then now that that's out of the way I will tell you a bit about the cards.

This first one my outline was a 3d cake; colour theme of pink, white and black; and for a girly girl.

Therefore I decided to do this 3d cake form Keepsakes by Design with my Craft Robo, and used my Cuttlebug to emboss it. The template also had the lovely lattice background which I cut from black pearl card. The pink is a lovely glitter card. I have added some bling with this lovely sparkly ribbon from Papermania. Then added some roses onto the top of the cake. The greeting plate I made on my PC using my new found favourite font - Carmine Tango. I think it is perfect for special cards.

The customer wanted me to use the verse below which I think is lovely:

Wedding Cake Recipe:

1/2 lb good looks
1lb sweet temper
1lb butter of youth
1lb blindness of faults
1lb of wit
1lb good humour
2lb of sweet argument
1 pint of rippling laughter
1 wine glass of common sense
a dash of modesty

Put the love good looks and a sweet temper into a well furnished house.
Beat the butter of youth into a cream, and mix well together with the blindness of faults.
Stir the wit and good humour into the sweet argument then add the rippling laughter and common sense.
Work the whole thing together until everything is well mixed, and bake gently forever.

I must again apologise for the above picture.

The next card I had an outline of a double heart; and bride and groom on a white card.

This is what I came up with. All of the embellishments I purchased from Twidley's. The double hearts I designed on my Craft Robo and embossed again with my cuttlebug. The sentiments I have made on my pc, printed onto Vellum and embossed with silver embossing powder. I have mounted these onto silver mirror card. I finished the whole card with a final spritz of Crafter's Companion Silver Spray and Sparkle.

I must admit that I wasn't too sure about this card when I had first made it but I placed it on my fire surround that evening and kept looking at it and decided that I did like it in the end. I think the reason I didn't like it at first was because it was just not my usual style.

The inside I placed a lovely insert using my bearly mine, designer inserts extreme cd which I printed onto pearl card. It gave a lovely luxury feel to the card. I wish the photo had taken better!!!

The final card I had an outline of 2 doves and wedding rings. I must say I do like this card, it has clean lines and is very fresh and delicate looking.
I firstly made a panel using my cuttle bug and mounted this onto silver mirror card. Next I got two wedding rings and attached these onto the card using some ribbon so that they were 'floating' along the ribbon. Then attached the two doves. This was then mounted onto A5 pearl base card. I have embellished using pc greeting and craft creations peel offs. The inside has a verse which I have printed onto pear paper.

Crafters Companion Forum - Sketch 32 by Christine

This is the card I have made for Sketch 32 over on the Crafters companion forum. Christine has designed the sketch this week as Wendy is away on holiday.

I couldn't resist using this stamp from the Crafters Companion Popcorn Floral Range. I have coloured with watercolours. The papers and inserts are the from Bearly Mine Extreme Range.
The card base is 7x7".

Thanks for looking as always,
Rachel xx
