Rachel's Cards and Crafts

This is a vase I have altered using black pebeo gesso and gilding wax.  I won the bottle on a tombola last year and it wasn't my usual style however I decided to alter it and make it more to my tastes by painting it and adding silver gilding wax to it. I have left it mat but I am considering spraying it with the spray and shine. Thant's it for now with this post.  Thanks Rachel

Hi all here's my creation from last week. It was my Mam's 60th Birthday on friday so wanted to make something special for her. She loves the Debbi Moore art deco cd's so I decided to use the Art Deco Galaxy CD Rom which is in collaboration with the Glitter Girls. I love the way this set has worked out.   The card stands open and all panels are displayed. I have used A4 pearl card and created 2 pieces with tri folds I mounted another piece of card to the centre section to mount these together. My Mam's birth stone is Garnet and her deco in her room is Burgandy so I chose the burgandy colour scheme for her card. I have made each end panel section symetrical. The chocolate box ribbon detail I found a tutorial on Facebook on the I'm a Crafter's Companion Group by (Will add name later as using my mobile broadband and facebook wont load). This week on ABC we had a sketch to follow which had an 'X' in the crossed over lines representing X in the alphabet. Well this is my project from this afternoon. I have altered a flowerbox which I received a lovely bunch of flowers in from my colleagues at work. As I was sorting the flowers out to go in the bin I thought it was a shame to throw the box out too as it is very strong. Therefore as it is my sisters birthday at the weekend I thought it would be nice to use as the box for her present, however I though it would be better if it had my twist on. Mind you I did have a few happy accidents along the way but I am pleased with the way it has turned out now. It seems to be my time for happy accidents at the moment lol.
