Christmas in August

Hi all I'm back again I've made my first card with the collection from Crafter's Companion designed by Stacey Barras. I have coloured the image using sparkle pens and added extra details with a white gel pen, glitter and gems. I'm really pleased with how it has turned out. That's it for this evening.  Hopefully will be back tomorrow to share something else with you. Thanks for popping by Hugs

Vintage Floral Butterfly Tree Canvas

Hi all This is a Canvas I have created. I've been working on it over a few weeks now. I initially decorated the base of the canvas with various papers, inks, paints, texture paste and script stamps; and painted the tree but was then stuck on what to add to it. I left it for a while whilst I came up with what I wanted to do. Then I decided I wanted some bigger flowers, and found some Prima flowers and added some additional mixed media elements and smaller flowers I already had in my stash. Along with glitters and diamante embellishments. I also die cut a fancy flourish for the corner (not that you can see much of it, oops) and a quote. I did two layers for the die cuts and glued them together so that they were thicker. Well here's a picture of it   I'm quite pleased with how it has turned out.  This is a video which shows some of the elements in more detail. You can even see the glitter sparkling. (Sorry it's a bit shaky I used my phone. It'...

Some crafty colouring relaxing

Hi all well I had a break from crafting the beginning of the year and I have been concentrating on a new healthy and active lifestyle so have been spending most of my spare time in the gym. I have also given up making my plaques and things made to order on ebay and etsy and decided that I wanted to get my crafts back as more of a hobby and more enjoyable when I do have some spare time. I felt like I was working to much to deadlines and the fun and relaxation of crafting had just gone. Unfortunately I have been unwell with my chest this past week and have spent some time in hospital. Well I thought that as I am resting up at the minute I would do a spot of colouring/crafting. I have had loads of digital images in a box printed and waiting for colouring so they were ready to hand which was very convenient. I set myself up in front of the tv, with my tray and Spectrum Noir Pencils, feet up and set off colouring a range of images. Once I had coloured a few and felt in the mood, I dec...

The card blank measure 8x8" and is very sparkly. You can see a bit of the sparkle in the photo but not as much as in real life.  I hope you like. Molly Bloom Christmas

Hi all I bet you thought I had vanished. Sorry for not blogging. As some of you may be aware I have not been myself of late and finding things a bit difficult. Well I have been trying to take my mind off it and have made this Christmas card today. I have used a Molly Bloom stamped image. I must admit I started to colour this image back in October but only got the hat coloured. I completed the colouring today using my Spectrum Noir Pens from Crafter’s Companion . I stamped onto Neenah Card Stock with Memento ink. I am pleased with the way the colouring has turned out. Practice and advice from wonderful people like Leann Chiver’s, Marcea Watkins, Louise Welsh and Co. has certainly helped improve my colouring technique. Here’s the card I have used the following products to complete my card Crafter’s Companion Neenah Card Stock Crafter’s Companion Spectrum Noir Molly Bloom Jolly Snowman Stamp Lili of the Valley Set 8 happy Circular Stamps WOW Black Glint Embossing Powder Lil...

Fancy a trip down Mulberry Woods?

Hi all, well the wonderful Crafter’s Companion are launching 6 more brand new stamps for the Christmas Mulberry Wood range. It will be POD on Tuesday over on Ideal World. I have made a few samples and here’s one of them. This first one is of the cute Santa going town the chimney. Isn’t he just adorable. I have coloured this with Spectrum Noir pens on Neenah card Stock. The base card is a scalloped 8x8 and I have used two papers from the Mulberry Wood CD taken into the colouriser and printed in this lovely blue tone. Next I matted all of the different layers onto the Core’dinations card stock. I finally added finishing touches with  a ribbon bow and some snowflakes, along with one of the sentiments from the stamp plate. Check back tomorrow for another sneak peak from me. Hugs Rachel
