It's a Crafter's Companion Blog - Challenge 8 - Rachel's Sketch

Hi everyone well I eventually got on to post this, my internet has being playing up again, crashing and going off line all together. I have been trying since sunnday to get this done!!! Well here it is eventually. I designed the sketch this time, simple but easy to work with in my opinion and we have had some great DT cards this time for challenge 8, can't believe we are on #8 already on the blog.

Well this was the sketch

And my card

I'm not to sure about this one though. I needed a card for an older ladies birthday but now wish I had made it on a 8x8" rather than a5 card base. I have used the vintage florals cd for this card.

I have coloured the image using sparkle pens and added extra details with a white gel pen, glitter and gems. I'm really pleased with how it has turned out. That's it for this evening.  Hopefully will be back tomorrow to share something else with you. Thanks for popping by Hugs

I initially decorated the base of the canvas with various papers, inks, paints, texture paste and script stamps; and painted the tree but was then stuck on what to add to it. I left it for a while whilst I came up with what I wanted to do. Then I decided I wanted some bigger flowers, and found some Prima flowers and added some additional mixed media elements and smaller flowers I already had in my stash. Along with glitters and diamante embellishments. I also die cut a fancy flourish for the corner (not that you can see much of it, oops) and a quote. I did two layers for the die cuts and glued them together so that they were thicker. Well here's a picture of it   I'm quite pleased with how it has turned out.  This is a video which shows some of the elements in more detail. You can even see the glitter sparkling. (Sorry it's a bit shaky I used my phone. It'...
