Just Inspirational Challenges - Sketch Challenge 1

Wow I'm so excited. That time has come for our first challenge over on Just Inspirational Challenges. This weeks challenge involves using the following sketch along with a theme of Love e.g. a Wedding, anniversary or card for a loved one. The design team have pulled out all the stops this time and created some wonderful cards!!!

Here's the sketch:

Here is my card. I made this for a dear colleagues 25th Wedding Anniversary. I was delighted with how it has turned out and she loved it too which is even better.

The backing papers are from my Barely Mine Design Extreme CD. I have used 3 different designs, all colour coordinating. I then stamped and coloured my magnolia images using copics. I cut a circle matt using my cuttlebug and nesties for the Chocolate Heart Box. The Longing Tilda stamp was then placed as if she is resting on the box.

I have added silver glitter detail to the bow and a silver 25 peel off too. I added some stickles glitter to the 'chocolates', Tilda's dress and hair piece.

I added some ribbon detail and a rhinestone buckle. This is the first time I have used a buckle and I must say I do like the effect. Especially on more special cards.

This image shows a close up of the Prima flowers. Extra special flowers make all the difference to a lovely card.

I added a rhinestone corner detail to the top left of the card and some dot rhinestones to the lower section.
Overall I am very pleased with how the card has turned out.

Mixed media clock

Hi all I'm back today to share a clock I've made.  I started it yesterday evening by adding the texture building stages using white crackle texture paste drying after. Then used various stencils and embossing paste. I dried this and then added a coat of black gesso and left it to dry over night.  This morning I added some colour onto it using Pebeo Dyna paints. I added die cut numbers cut out of silver mirror card. However I wasn't happy with it as it was too dark for what I wanted it for and thought the silver numbers didn't go with it. So I sat back and looked at it and decided I wanted it lighter.  Well no loss as out came my heavy white gesso and I gave it a good coating. Before adding the white gesso I sanded the numbers slightly so that the paint could adhere better and this also gave extra texture. I dried this off and added the Dyna paints again and some Art Alchemy Opal Magic in Rose Gold.  Well I felt much happier with how it was lookin

Birthday Card Trio

Hello all, I'm back again with another post for you. This time I've got three cards to show you.  These are all made with products from Crafter's Companion. The 1st is another dragon card made using one of the Lee Holland Dragon stamps. I love these little characters :) I've had coloured this using spectrum noir colour blend pencils. I just love how much of a fun looking card you can make with these stamps.    Next is a card made using a unicorn stamp. This has also been hand coloured with pencils. I've also used some backing papers and matt mirror and glitter card from Sara's Enchanted forest collection. Finally I've made a card using my Crafter's Companion BeBunni CD. It's a while since I've used this cd but I forgot how cute these little bunnies are.   All of the cards have been personalised with die cut numbers and letters for the names. Hope to see you all again soon. Rachel
