Our New Challenge Blog

Soon Wendy and I will be starting a new blog called "It's a Crafter's Companion". This will be a fortnightly sketch challenge and will often incorporate a theme. All we ask is for a crafters companion product to be used somewhere on the card. Check out this link:

We are hoping it will be up and running and launching the first challenge on Monday 6th July. There will even be a prize linked to the first challenge.

Just Christmas and Birthdays Cards Sketch Challenge #37

This is the card I have made for this weeks Just Christmas and Birthday Cards Sketch Challenge #37 set by Ann. I have used the Crafters Companion Flower Fairies CD Rom 1 - Almond Flower Fairy.

I have taken papers from the cd and matted these onto silver mirror card which I then matted onto a pale pink 8" x 8" card base inside and outside. I have made a co-ordinating verse pannel and matted this onto silver mirror card also.

I made the scalloped and plain ovals on my craft robo and attatched the silver mirror card strips behind this. The flower fairy I have decoupaged. Finally I have added peel off details and gems.

Thanks for stopping by

True Love Wedding

This is for another order. The lady wanted me to use the Cuddly Buddly True Love toppers and also some Craft Creations Butterfly Peel Offs and an A4 double pop out card.

I have used Cream pearl Card Stock, silver mirror and cream glitter card throughout the card. The papers are from the Cuddly Buddly Pink Patchwork collection. The fron pannels I have ran through my hearts embossing folder with my cuttlebug.

Inside I have used my Craft Robo to Cut out the hearts. The butterflies Have been decoupaged and attatched to the glitter card using pinflair glue gel as it is one of the only glues which will get a good hold on glitter card.

I have made a matching wrap for the card and decorated the inside with co-ordinating papers. The Happy Couples name have been added to the tag using my craft studio.

I wish the photo's for this card gave a true reflection of the card as my mother says that the card looks much better in the 'flesh' so to speak.

Thanks again for looking

Cute Campanions Summer Stories Panaramic Garden Scene

This card I have made with the Crafters Companion Summer Stories Cd rom. I have used the panaramic garden scene, which has been decoupaged, and mounted this onto silver mirror card.

I have stamped and water coloured rabbits, the dog and wellington boots from the co-ordinating stamps.

I have used coordinating papers from the cd and matted these onto the silver mirror card then onto the front and both inside sections of the card. I have used one of the notepapers to make the verse pannel for the inside right section. I have added ribbon bow details to the front of the card for the finishing touch.

The card measures 8" x 11" when closed. I am pleased with the way this card has turned out and like the size and style. I feel I will be making a few more cards like this.

Thanks Rachel xx

Another order

Well here is my most recent order. The gentleman wanted 4 cards and had outilines for all.

The first on is a bit of a joke card. The request for this card was black and white striped paper with the image of the the UK with Newcastle pinpointed on and not in Germany written beside it. He was sending this to a American friend who said that he did not speak English so must be from Germany.

This card is a one for his sister's birthday. He wanted a army themed card and liked the idea of army teddies so I decided to used the Cuddly Buddly Military Bears download.
I have made this into 8" square when closed and opens up to 16". I have used red holographic, red and cream card stocks. The papers are included within the download. The centre mat I have cut on my cuttlebug using my nestabilities.
The next card I have made in the theme of the Italin flag and he wanted a heart in the centre with the text "Ti amo con tutta l'anima".
This card is for his father he liked one I had done last year using this cdrom and wanted a man at a computer so I have found that the cd had this image with a cute little character sitting at the computer. The image is decoupaged.
