New additions to the Darice Embossing folders range.

Hi all I wanted to share with you some cards I made with 3 of the latest Darice embossing folder launch.

Firstly here’s some cards I made with the Grass folder.

I picked out the detail on the embossing with my Spectrum Noir pens. Matted onto some Core’dinations cardstock and gold mirror card. I have added a layer underneath which comprises of a core’dinations base, gold mirror card and ribbon from my stash. I have punched some butterflies out using my Martha Stewart Butterfly Punch. These have 3 layers each. The base card is an 8x8 scalloped card and I have matted onto this some of the Foiled acetate from the Toread Range from Crafter’s Companion. Finally I added a sentiment and some stickles glitter glue.

This card I have used a cream speckled a4 basecard folded into A5. Matted and layered using the smae cardstock and gold mirror card. I have created a embossed panel using the folder and highlighted the grass a bit more using distress ink. Added Ribbon and Pearl details with a peel off sentiment.

The next embossing folder is a stars folder.

049w

This card is quite simple. I have embossed the first layer with red core’dinations and then cut some stars out of a further sheet of core’dinations which I embossed with the folder. I have matted this onto gold mirror card and printed a stars backing paper. Finally adding ribbon, spray and sparkle, gems and peel off details.

031w

The next card I have made with the cute Angelica and Friends Range from Crafter’s Companion which launched last week. I just love working with these cute adorable characters. I have only subtly used the stars folder for this one. I added a sentiment, ribbon, flowers and stickles as details.

The next folder is a 12 inch border strip of 3 tickets. I have to admit I did struggle with this folder to come up with inspiration.

024w

This card has been made using the Male Hobbies CD from Crafter’s Companion. I decided to emboss some shrink plastic for this card and coloured with my spectrum noir pens. I cut the tickets to create two individual tickets and then shrunk them to make little stubs.

052w

This card has been made keeping the tickets at their origional size and embossed onto core’dinations and sanded. I have added a stamped sentiment and button for details. The backing paper is from the vintage CD. I have also distressed the paper and stamped sentiment using Distress ink.

That’s it for this post.

Mixed media clock

Hi all I'm back today to share a clock I've made.  I started it yesterday evening by adding the texture building stages using white crackle texture paste drying after. Then used various stencils and embossing paste. I dried this and then added a coat of black gesso and left it to dry over night.  This morning I added some colour onto it using Pebeo Dyna paints. I added die cut numbers cut out of silver mirror card. However I wasn't happy with it as it was too dark for what I wanted it for and thought the silver numbers didn't go with it. So I sat back and looked at it and decided I wanted it lighter.  Well no loss as out came my heavy white gesso and I gave it a good coating. Before adding the white gesso I sanded the numbers slightly so that the paint could adhere better and this also gave extra texture. I dried this off and added the Dyna paints again and some Art Alchemy Opal Magic in Rose Gold.  Well I felt much happier with how it was lookin

Birthday Card Trio

Hello all, I'm back again with another post for you. This time I've got three cards to show you.  These are all made with products from Crafter's Companion. The 1st is another dragon card made using one of the Lee Holland Dragon stamps. I love these little characters :) I've had coloured this using spectrum noir colour blend pencils. I just love how much of a fun looking card you can make with these stamps.    Next is a card made using a unicorn stamp. This has also been hand coloured with pencils. I've also used some backing papers and matt mirror and glitter card from Sara's Enchanted forest collection. Finally I've made a card using my Crafter's Companion BeBunni CD. It's a while since I've used this cd but I forgot how cute these little bunnies are.   All of the cards have been personalised with die cut numbers and letters for the names. Hope to see you all again soon. Rachel
