A Few Wedding Cards

These next cards are from an order I did recently. However before I explain each card I must apologise for the quality of the photographs, my camera must have played up and did not realise until I had already delivered the cards to the customer. That will teach me for not loading the photos onto the computer beforehand. However I must say that the first picture didn't look like this on the preview screen of my camera, it seemed to go weird on uploading to the computer. I don't have the original photo either as my settings automatically erase the memory card once they are uploaded.
Right then now that that's out of the way I will tell you a bit about the cards.

This first one my outline was a 3d cake; colour theme of pink, white and black; and for a girly girl.

Therefore I decided to do this 3d cake form Keepsakes by Design with my Craft Robo, and used my Cuttlebug to emboss it. The template also had the lovely lattice background which I cut from black pearl card. The pink is a lovely glitter card. I have added some bling with this lovely sparkly ribbon from Papermania. Then added some roses onto the top of the cake. The greeting plate I made on my PC using my new found favourite font - Carmine Tango. I think it is perfect for special cards.

The customer wanted me to use the verse below which I think is lovely:

Wedding Cake Recipe:

1/2 lb good looks
1lb sweet temper
1lb butter of youth
1lb blindness of faults
1lb of wit
1lb good humour
2lb of sweet argument
1 pint of rippling laughter
1 wine glass of common sense
a dash of modesty

Put the love good looks and a sweet temper into a well furnished house.
Beat the butter of youth into a cream, and mix well together with the blindness of faults.
Stir the wit and good humour into the sweet argument then add the rippling laughter and common sense.
Work the whole thing together until everything is well mixed, and bake gently forever.

I must again apologise for the above picture.

The next card I had an outline of a double heart; and bride and groom on a white card.

This is what I came up with. All of the embellishments I purchased from Twidley's. The double hearts I designed on my Craft Robo and embossed again with my cuttlebug. The sentiments I have made on my pc, printed onto Vellum and embossed with silver embossing powder. I have mounted these onto silver mirror card. I finished the whole card with a final spritz of Crafter's Companion Silver Spray and Sparkle.

I must admit that I wasn't too sure about this card when I had first made it but I placed it on my fire surround that evening and kept looking at it and decided that I did like it in the end. I think the reason I didn't like it at first was because it was just not my usual style.

The inside I placed a lovely insert using my bearly mine, designer inserts extreme cd which I printed onto pearl card. It gave a lovely luxury feel to the card. I wish the photo had taken better!!!

The final card I had an outline of 2 doves and wedding rings. I must say I do like this card, it has clean lines and is very fresh and delicate looking.
I firstly made a panel using my cuttle bug and mounted this onto silver mirror card. Next I got two wedding rings and attached these onto the card using some ribbon so that they were 'floating' along the ribbon. Then attached the two doves. This was then mounted onto A5 pearl base card. I have embellished using pc greeting and craft creations peel offs. The inside has a verse which I have printed onto pear paper.

Mixed media clock

Hi all I'm back today to share a clock I've made.  I started it yesterday evening by adding the texture building stages using white crackle texture paste drying after. Then used various stencils and embossing paste. I dried this and then added a coat of black gesso and left it to dry over night.  This morning I added some colour onto it using Pebeo Dyna paints. I added die cut numbers cut out of silver mirror card. However I wasn't happy with it as it was too dark for what I wanted it for and thought the silver numbers didn't go with it. So I sat back and looked at it and decided I wanted it lighter.  Well no loss as out came my heavy white gesso and I gave it a good coating. Before adding the white gesso I sanded the numbers slightly so that the paint could adhere better and this also gave extra texture. I dried this off and added the Dyna paints again and some Art Alchemy Opal Magic in Rose Gold.  Well I felt much happier with how it was loo...
